1. ADOPT A CLASSROOM

 

Scheme applicable for the rural schools at Karaipakkam Tamil Nadu, South India

and for special needs of physically and mentally challenged children in our inclusive education program. Profile of children: underprivileged children from rural, low-income groups and industrial areas in a radius of 30 km around these school.

 

 
Adopt a classroom and provide for the following needs for a class of 40 children
  • Text books, notebooks and stationary, uniforms, classroom furniture, educational teaching aids, one computer and LCD/screen, posters, salary for one teacher and one teacher's helper.
  • Provide special educational teaching aids and furniture for our 'special children' (physically and mentally challenged) with aid for support staff and helpers, special furniture.

2. BE A GOD-PARENT

 

Scheme applicable in all our branches Profile of children: underprivileged children, destitute and orphans

You would:
  • Play the role of a god-parent for your chosen little one.
  • Correspond with your god-child, and make him/her feel loved and wanted.
  • Visit your god-child in the school premises when you visit us.

 

  • Provide for the complete education, food, shelter, health-care, uniforms, clothes, books, toys and care for one child, till the child completes it's education.

3. THE MAGIC POT

 

We feed around 800 children daily. Some of this comes from our own home-grown rice, vegetables and from our small dairy. We are still unable to meet the needs of our children and request help for:

We would be happy to:

  • Feed a hungry child.
  • Invite you/your company/employees to help us feed and serve our hungry children on special occasions.
  • Invite you to join us in eating with the kids on special functions and occasions.
  • Share your skills to upgrade our kitchens to run on biogas and solar energy.
  • Rations of rice, sugar, pulses, cereals, vegetables and fruits. 
  • Kitchen maintenance and renovation, fuel supply, staff salaries for our cooks and helpers in the kitchen.

3. A ROOF OVER MY HEAD

 

Our hostel accommodation for around requires periodic renovation to cope with growing numbers of children. We require constant help to provide our children with hygienic, well-ventilated, rooms with proper beds, storage areas and toilets. At present, we need to upgrade facilities to accommodate around 60 children.

 

  • For each room within a block we require furniture, storage cupboards, furnishings (bedsheets, cushions, mattresses, mats),  chairs, water cooler and cups, medical facilities for hostel children.
  • Expansion of toilets facilities to cope with growing numbers.

4. YOUNG SCIENTISTS

 

To improve the quality of our science education we have six senior lab's and three junior labs for physics, chemistry, botany, zoology and mathematics. However, keeping in mind the growing need for a high degree of scientific knowledge we wish to expand our science lab's and upgrade them.

 

We would be happy to:

  • Invite you/your company/employees to share your IT and science skills with us in our labs.
  • Name the lab's in honour of your company/family or loved ones.
  • Deliver lectures and organise special programs for our kids with your experience.
  • Organise trips to science parks, laboratories and ecological parks.
  • Basic furniture, laboratory equipment and chemicals, supplies, specimens, for junior and senior laboratories (n=9) for physics/mathematics, chemistry, and biology (botany/zoology) for the middle and high school in all sections.

5. ECO-FRIENDLY SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE

 

Keeping in mind the problems arising out of wasteful use of energy, and resources, we have already implemented schemes of eco-friendly cultivation and water purification methods. However, in the light of growing costs of power and fuel, we urgently require the following:

6. SPORTS FOR ALL

Indian children rarely get a chance to excel in sports primarily owing to the absence of good sports facilities and grounds. With acres of open space at Sholinganallore, grounds for football and courts for basketball and badminton, volleyball and tenniquoit we now require urgent upgradation of our sports facilities. These are open to children from the neighbouring villages as well.

 

  • Sports equipment for an indoor gymnasium for high school children, lay out grounds for badminton courts (world standards); and for a new hockey field, support salaries of coaches and equipment and provide fellowships for deserving upcoming sportsmen/women.
