You Can Help a Child

Let none be like another

Yet each be like the highest

How can that be?

Let each be perfect in himself

Inclusive Education:

   Our 'Special Children'

Our society was one of the first to introduce the policy of integrated education for physically and mentally challenged children  three decades ago.

Mentally and physically challenged children are integrated into mainstream classes and provided with extra special help and care.

Today we have 60 special children out of 579, in our Kindergarten and Primary Sections, who continue into our middle and high school sections.

Children who are autistic, spastic, with Down's syndrome, ADH, dyslexic, with poor vision and/or speech problems, hearing impaired, or who have had polio, are all integrated through our special education programs.

Teacher's are specially trained, both through our in-house training programs and external training courses. Special educators form an important part of this program.

We have visiting speech therapists, and trained doctors who visit the school every day and implement programs for our 'special children'.

Our experience has been extremely positive. Improvement in the abilities of our 'special children' has been tracked by medical practioners and teachers working with the children.

The other children learn compassion and understanding and develop excellent long-lasting friendships with their special friends. They are actively involved in helping their special friends in class and outside.

All our 'Special Children' take part in all classroom and school activities, cultural programs, and sports.

We are happy to say that our principal Mrs. Saroja Balasubramanyam is currently doing her Ph.D. on our educational programs for special children.

This page is dedicated to the memory of one of our best and brightest 'Special Children': Little Pavithra.
